The CNEE visiting group which is composed of 26 senior undergraduates and postgraduates from four different departments went to the Tokyo for a 7-day learning and communication activity on Jan. 13, 2020. During this short-term study tour, participating students were given academic lectures by Professors from the University of Tokyo and Waseda University, they also visited Tokyo Circle Drainage System, Water Recycling Centre, and Waste Incineration Plant to combine theory and practice in order to make a deep understanding on water resource and environment. Through this visit, students can learn the advanced environment protection technology and the latest theoretical knowledge in Japan and also compare the difference of water recycling and waste incineration technique between Japan and China.

In the spare time, students also visited Meiji Jingu Shrine, Sensoji Temple, Imperial Palace, Museum and other places in Tokyo to experience the Japanese customs and culture. The group learned how to creative thinking and innovation from the application of the combination of artificial intelligence and environment through lectures. They also studied the advanced technology and concept of environment and water resource subjects from field work. The sophisticated environmental protection concept that runs through the daily life of Japanese has left a deep impression on the students. This study tour opened up the international vision of participating students, expanded their horizons, and also improved their cross-culture communication skills. It also provided a rare opportunity for CNEE to build a strong relationship with the well-known universities in Japan.
